As the new year begins, there’s a lot of talk about resolutions — goals, achievements, and all the ways to “be better.” But for many teens, that pressure can feel heavy. You don’t have to reinvent yourself to grow. Sometimes, it’s less about changing who you are and more about understanding who you’re becoming.
That’s where intentions come in.
Intentions aren’t about perfection or performance. They’re about awareness — a mindful way to align your choices with what matters most to you.
Here are 3 reflection questions to help you start fresh, without the pressure of resolutions:
🌿 1. What do I want to feel more of this year?
Instead of focusing on what to do, start with what you want to feel. Maybe that’s calm, confidence, or connection. Once you know the feeling, you can make choices that support it — like spending time with friends who uplift you or creating space to rest.
💛 2. What do I want to let go of?
Growth also means release. Maybe it’s the fear of disappointing others, comparing yourself to someone else, or saying “yes” when you really mean “no.” Letting go is an act of courage — it opens space for peace.
🌸 3. What’s one small step I can take toward being more me?
You don’t have to have it all figured out. Healing and self-discovery are made up of small, consistent steps — moments where you choose authenticity over approval, self-compassion over self-criticism.
This year, skip the pressure to be perfect.
Instead, set an intention to show up as yourself — curious, growing, and worthy, just as you are. 🌿
