Yes, I hug trees! I also use essential oils for cooking, cleaning, diffusing, skin care, laundry, you name it, I use an oil in some form or fashion for said task, in my home, on & in my body, & even on my dog! She LOVES AnimalScents T-Away!!
Does this make me a hippie chick? Maybe so. I’m okay with that! I am more than okay with that, actually! Does this make me the epitome of health & wellness? No, I’m still human, with flaws; but I’m educating myself to make better decisions for my health & wellness. I’m a work-in-progress, and I am also okay with that!
Some of you may see this picture and think “Wow, she’s gained weight. I thought she was on this health and wellness journey a few years ago that had her in the best shape of her life, what happened?”
I’ll tell you what happened… STRESS. TRAUMA. LIFE ALTERING EVENTS. BIG DECISIONS. LIFE CHANGING DECISIONS. ANXIETY. MORE STRESS. DID I MENTION STRESS?!
This isn’t a weight loss post, but this is a mental health check-in post. If nature therapy is what brings you back to center, brings you back to life, brings you back to the best version of yourself, then GET OUTSIDE!
I recently recognized myself going down a dark road of anxiety, stress, & depression and knew I needed a reset. A time to rejuvenate, and regain myself and refine my purpose.
I did so, OUTSIDE! August 6th was the first night since July 29th, that I’ve slept inside a house, on a bed, under the comforts of modern technologies and amenities like AC, hot water heater, toilets, washers & dryers.
I say all that to say, Mother Nature has the most nurturing of all souls and I needed to reconnect with creation to regain focus on what really matters to me.
It didn’t come without its challenges, but what came from conquering those challenges is a much needed reminder than I am capable of more than I give myself credit for and I’m ready to share with the world that I have more to offer than just taking up space on this planet!
What activity rejuvenates your soul when you’ve felt you’ve lost yourself to the mundane grind of daily life struggles?
